Interviews are optional—but encouraged.
Interviews give us a chance to get to know you beyond your application—and give you the opportunity to ask questions and connect with someone who knows Occidental firsthand. Our interviews are conducted by alumni volunteers and current students, so it’s a true two-way conversation.
If you complete an interview, it will be evaluated as part of your application review, but not having an interview will not put you at a disadvantage—your application will be reviewed fully either way.
Interviews for first-year applicants for Fall 2026 and transfer applicants for Spring 2026 will be available starting August 2025.
