Campus updates on Occidental's solar array by Physics Professor Daniel Snowden-Ifft.
Today, Occidental's 1 MW solar array is 3 years old. In the last year the array produced 1.78 GWh of electrical energy, slightly down from our first (1.82 GWh) and second (1.88 GWh) years.
Today is the 2nd anniversary of Occidental's 1 MW solar array. In the last year the array produced 1.86 GWh of electrical energy, slightly up (+2.8%) from our total 1.81 GWh last year for a grand total of 3.67 GWh.
Occidental's 1 MW solar array just finished, today, it's first year of operation. Happy 1st Birthday Solar Array!
°µÍø½ûÇø's 1 MW solar array began operation this year on March 4th, 2013, about 6 months ago.
We've reached the end of the first, almost full, month of operation of the °µÍø½ûÇø solar array so I thought I'd write to update everyone on what is going on up there and provide some context for what it all means.
